About

Who am I, really?
where I'm from
As a first-generation Chinese Canadian, I was born and raised in Calgary, Canada. Growing up my parents always encouraged me to seek new experiences and perspectives from around the world. I'm glad I did, cause it has greatly shaped the person I am today. However, it has also instilled a permanent case of the travel bug.
How I Found Design...or Did design find me?
During high school, I joined the yearbook team as the school's sports photographer, initially as a means to leave class early. Little did I know, this decision sparked a passion for design and art direction within me. This newfound love ultimately led me to pursue a design education at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver, Canada.
what I DO NOW
Today I'm the Creative Lead at a small studio, a remote creative studio. I'm a generalist design leader with expertise across the "full stack" of product design — from clarifying complex ecosystems and business needs to executing delightful designs and prototypes, all while fostering collaboration among teammates and stakeholders.
what I do for fun
When I'm not drawing rectangles on the screen, I'm a lover of travelling, going to restaurants, playing golf, hovering over my vegetable garden, and long walks with my partner and puppy, Bourbon – especially ones that end at a great cafe. And yes, I acknowledge that I've entered into my grandma-era about 40 years ahead of time.
